I made all four colors that I was planning and now Leo has a play dough set. Ready to play anytime including a cutter set and a roller. We rolled and squeezed and made shapes with them today in the morning. He actually loves cutting the dough with his play knife and making a ” khrrrrrrrtt” sound while cutting. He learned that sound from his grandfather, my dad makes it when Leo wants to touch his pocketknife. We gave a visit to my parents’ house last month and Leo was obsessed with his grandfather’s pocketknife. My dad always warned him about it and hide it somewhere high but unfortunately couldn’t stop Leo from hiding it into our suitcase and bring it home : ) I found the pocketknife ( which is always securely closed ) in the suitcase when we came back home and laughed a lot about it.
Here are some pictures of our dough play activity
We made cars and a New Year’s tree.
Playing with dough is good for developing children’s fine motor skills and also their imagination. Plus it’s a lot of fun.
