Cultural Exchange – England ( İngiltere Paketimiz)

Lots of thanks to Nancy (mom) & Ettie (daughter) from London, England for their lovely and thoughtful exchange package that we’ve received a couple of weeks ago. We loved every piece in the pack. I was so suprised how my son examined every piece  and played with them for a very long time. I tell you, if I’d gone and bought him the most expensive toy from the toystore, that wouldn’t keep him longer.

Of all the cultural packages that we received, I decided to start with England. Because we have a London city puzzle that we play regularly and Leo loves it. So I thought starting with England would be the best way to introduce a foreign culture.

I brought out the puzzle first and we talked about the city of London. Then I talked about Ettie and showed my son her pictures.  I said she sent us some stuff from her country and introduced my son  the contents explaining briefly what they are. Everything got so right in their place. I use some  of our books and toys to compare and understand the stuff that came from England.

His top three is the play money (coins) , English flag and the Maisy book. He held the money in his hand all day long, slept with them and took them out to the playground. It’s been 5 days since I introduced the package and he’s still asking where his English coins are if he cannot see them :=)

 

İngiltere’den kültürel değişim grup arkadaşımız Ettie ve annesi Nancy’ye ne kadar teşekkür etsek azdır. Bize öyle güzel ve eğlenceli bir paket hazırlamışlar ki anlatamam. Oğlum da ben de o kadar cok eglendik ki bu paketle. Oglumun paketi incelerken gecirdigi uzun sure beni cok sasirtti. Yaklasik 2 saat boyunca kalkmadan bu paket uzerine konusup, oyunlar oynadik. Yani gidip oyuncakcidan en pahali oyuncagi alsam, bu kadar uzun sure oynamayacagina eminim. (Tabiki denemedim:)

Gelen 3 paketin icinden İngiltere ile baslamamizin bir sebebi var bu arada. Marks and Spencer’da indirimde bulunca aldigim bir Londra sehir puzzle’imiz vardi. Cok severek hergun yapiyoruz zaten. Bununla paketi iliskilendirebilecegimi dusundum ve algilamasi daha rahat olsun diye İngiltere paketiyle basladim. Once puzzle’i cikarttim ve yaparken Londra hakkinda biraz konustuk. Sonra paketi getirdim, Ettie’den bahsettim ve Nancy’nin yolladigi fotograflarini gosterdim. Ettie’nin ulkesiyle ilgili bize gonderdiklerini tek tek cikartarak inceledik.Diger oyuncak ve kitaplarimizla malzemeleri örtüştürdükçe herşey epey anlasilir oldu.

Oglumun favorileri ise basta oyun paraları, İngiliz bayrağı ve Maisy kitabı oldu. O gun tum gun oyun paralarıni elinden bırakmadı, onlarla uyudu, onlarla parka gitti. Uzerinden 5 gun geçmesine ragmen etrafta göremediğinde hala paralarını soruyor :)
